Default Propagation field, RMS delivers the message as if the delivery philosophy
is negative; that is, it suppresses the message.
Solicited messages—The Process Solicited Msgs field controls whether solicited
messages can trigger rules. (A solicited message is a message that is generated in
response to an explicit request.) If you specify N or S in the Process Solicited Msgs
field, RMS delivers the solicited messages in the same way as for messages that do
not trigger a rule.
Specifying What Ruleset
Statistics to Capture
You can specify whether RMS captures certain statistics on the ruleset while the
ruleset is used with a message handler (RMS : Control Options Definition—Statistics
panel). You can use the statistics to analyze the message flow to the message handler
and how the handler is processing the messages. You can specify the following
criteria on the statistics you want to capture:
The number of different messages (as differentiated by the message ID) that RMS
should capture statistics on
Whether RMS should capture statistics on the usage of a ruleset feature
Whether RMS should capture statistics on the messages
If you do not want any statistics, leave the initial values as they are.
Setting the Number of Different Messages on Which to Capture Statistics
Using the RMS : Control Options Definition—Statistics panel, you limit the number of
different messages (as differentiated by the message ID) on which RMS captures
statistics. You must specify a number in the Statistics Table Size field. Valid values
are 1 through 9999. The initial value is 500.
The following example tells RMS to capture statistics relating to the first 1000 different
messages only:

Specifying Ruleset Features on Which to Capture Statistics
Using the fields on the left half of the RMS : Control Options Definition—Statistics
panel, you can instruct RMS to capture statistics on selected ruleset features using the
following fields:
Field Description
Message Suppression Number of messages suppressed by rules
Message Modification Number of messages modified by rules
Message Replacement Number of messages replaced by rules
