Value
The name, if specified, must consist of one through twelve characters. Each character
must be an alphanumeric character, @, #, or $.
You can leave the Message Action ID field blank if you specify a valid message ID or
subsystem ID in the Message ID field or the SS ID field in MESSAGE RECOGNITION
ELEMENT. The specified value must not contain wild-card (* or ?) or % characters,
and must not be a variable. The name of the rule becomes one of the following:
If you specify a valid message ID in the Message ID field, the name of the rule
takes this value.
If you leave the Message ID field blank and specify a valid subsystem ID in the SS
ID field, the name of the rule takes the short form of the subsystem ID. (For
example, the short form of the subsystem ID TANDEM.NNM.D30 is NNM, and
the name of the rule becomes NNM).
Press ENTER to display the default name (if available) in the Default value field.
Note To make rule management easier, name your rule here. If you leave the naming to RMS, duplicate rule
names may result, making it hard to distinguish them. For example, if you add two rules to respond to the
same message ID but with different triggering criteria and do not specify the rule name, the rules take the
message ID as the name, resulting in two rules with the same name.
