subject, that is, the 14th word in the message, and the word contains
devname
. When
you freeze a subject (for example, device $ATP5.#TERM4), message NNM0686 that
contains the frozen subject as
devname
cannot now trigger the rule.
Note In RMS, when you attempt to freeze a subject without specifying a manager, all subjects with the same
name are frozen. If you want to be able to freeze a specific subject that has no manager, specify your
own unique subject.
The new subject is valid for the rule only. The message handler sets the
&ZZZMSUBJECT RMS message variable to the new value. The message is not
changed.
Specify your message subject in the Subject Override field (page 2 of the message
action rule definition panels). The field accepts up to 53 characters. You can specify
text, a variable, or a combination of both, to define your message subject. However, if
you want to be able to freeze the subject, you must ensure that the length of the subject
name (specified directly, or indirectly using a variable) is no more than 34 characters
long.

Using Message Text Analysis
You can restrict the messages that trigger the rule by specifying certain combinations
of the message text (page 3 of the message action rule definition panels).
