b. Select the appropriate option to access the type of rules to copy (for example,
option 1 for message action rules). A selection list panel appears listing all the
rules of the selected type in RMS.
2. Type CP next to the names of the rules to copy. Press ENTER to start copying the
rules. An inset appears prompting for the name of the ruleset to copy to.
a. Specify the name of the ruleset in the RULESET NAME field.
b. Specify N (NO, do not replace if the rule already exists) or Y (YES, replace if
the rule already exists) in the REPLACE field. The default is N.
c. Press ENTER to start copying the rules. RMS copies the rules in the order of
the displayed list. A rule is flagged as **COPIED** if the operation is
successful.
3. Update the ruleset comments, as described in “Maintaining Comments,” later in
this section.
Modifying a Rule You can modify any existing rule and, depending on how you file the changes, have
the changes reflected immediately in the message handlers. You cannot change the
following:
Message action ID and the primary trigger of a message action rule
Message group ID of a message group rule
Timer ID of a time-based rule
Modify a rule as follows:
1. At any => prompt, type =R.6 and press ENTER to access Rule Maintenance. The
RMS : Rule Maintenance panel appears.
a. Specify the name of the ruleset that contains the rule to modify in the Ruleset
field. If you wish to be prompted by a selection list panel, ensure that the field
is blank.
b. Select the appropriate option to access the rules (for example, option 1 for
message action rules). If a selection list panel appears, select the appropriate
ruleset by typing an S next to the name of the ruleset and pressing ENTER.
The selected rules maintenance panel appears (for example, RMS : Message
Action Rules Maintenance panel).
2. At the Selection Key field, you can request a list of some or all of the rules of the
selected type (message action rules, message group rules, or time-based rules) in
the ruleset as follows:
If you want a particular rule, specify the name of the rule.
If you want a partial list, specify a partial text string (that is, the first few
characters of the name of a rule or rules). RMS lists the rules in the ruleset that
have names starting with the partial text string in alphabetic order.
