Modifying the Control Options of a Ruleset

Modify the control options of a ruleset as follows:
1. At any => prompt, type =R.6 and press ENTER to access Rule Maintenance. The
RMS : Rule Maintenance panel appears.
a. Specify the name of the ruleset in the Ruleset field. If you wish to be
prompted by a selection list panel, either ensure that the field is blank or
specify ALL in the field.
b. Select option 7 to access Ruleset Control Options Definition. If a selection list
panel appears, select the appropriate ruleset by typing an S next to the name
of the ruleset and pressing ENTER. The RMS : Control Options Definition—
Suppression panel appears.
Note If you specify ALL in the Ruleset field, you can select more than one ruleset to work on when you are
prompted by the selection list panel. When you have finished with one ruleset, the control options for the
next ruleset appear.
2. Modify the control options of the ruleset using the following four panels:
RMS : Control Options Definition—Suppression
RMS : Control Options Definition—Ranking
RMS : Control Options Definition—Run Parms
RMS : Control Options Definition—Statistics
See “Creating a Ruleset” in Section 5 for a detailed description of the fields on the
panels. Use the following function keys to move between fields, to validate
entries, and to move between panels:
TAB and SHIFT TAB to move between input fields
ENTER to validate your entries
F7 and F8 to page through the RMS : Control Options Definition panels
3. Before filing your changed control options, you should specify the filing method in
the Activation field on the RMS : Control Options Definition—Statistics panel.
If you want to save the control options but do not want to make the options
available to existing message handlers that use the ruleset, leave the initial
value D (deferred) in the Activation field.
If you want to save the control options and make the options available to
existing message handlers that use the ruleset, specify I (immediate).
If you want the control options to be temporary (that is, make the options
available to existing message handlers that use the ruleset only, but do not
save the options), specify N (no save).
