Updating and Maintaining Rulesets, Rules, and Command Groups
6–32 115415 NonStop NET/MASTER RMS Management and Operations Guide
If you want to save the function key settings and make the settings available to
existing message handlers that use the ruleset and your OCS window, specify
I (immediate).
If you want the function key settings to be temporary (that is, make the
settings available to existing message handlers that use the ruleset and your
OCS window only, but do not save the settings), specify N (no save).
4. Use F3 to file the changed settings. The RMS : Rule Maintenance panel reappears,
and a message confirms that the function key settings associated with the ruleset
have been modified.
5. Add or update the comments on the function key settings record, as described in
“Maintaining Comments,” later in this section. You may also want to update the
comments on the ruleset itself.
Deleting the
Environmental Profile
and Function Key
Settings Records
The environmental profile and function key records modify the operating
environment in which a ruleset is active. At some stage, you may decide that you do
not want the profile of or the function key settings in the environment modified by the
ruleset. Delete one or both of these records. A deletion removes a record from the
RMS database but does not affect the ruleset that is currently in use.
Delete environmental profile or function key settings records as follows:
1. At any => prompt, type =R.6 and press ENTER to access Rule Maintenance. The
RMS : Rule Maintenance panel appears.
2. Specify ALL in the Ruleset field and select either option 5 to access Ruleset Profile
Maintenance or option 6 to access Ruleset Function Key Maintenance. The
selected maintenance panel appears (the records are identified by the name of the
ruleset).
3. Type a D next to the records to delete. Press ENTER. A message appears
prompting you to confirm the deletion.
Note If you change your mind and do not want to delete the selected records, cancel the delete operation by
pressing F12 and do not perform Steps 4 and 5.
4. Press ENTER to confirm the deletion. A record is flagged as **DELETED** if the
operation is successful.
5. Update the ruleset comments to reflect the changes to the ruleset as described in
“Maintaining Comments” later in this section.
