5. Analyze the displayed messages to determine what you want to do next and
proceed as follows:
If you want to check the parameters of your simulated message, press F6. The
parameters of your simulated message appear in two RMS : Event
Simulation—Message Parameters panels. You cannot modify the parameters
on these panels.
If you want to test the ruleset again with a different message, press F3 to
return to the RMS : Event Simulation—Message Parameters panel and repeat
Steps 3 and 4.
If you want to change the triggered rules in the ruleset, press F12. The
RMS : Event Simulation—Triggered Actions panel appears with a list of the
triggered rules. You can operate on the triggered rules as follows:
Use the action code A or S to add or modify a rule. The message action
rule definition panels appear. See “Adding a Message Action Rule” in
Section 5 for a detailed description of the fields on the panels. Use the
Activation field (initial value I) to determine whether RMS should update
the RMS database.
Use the action code D to delete any of the triggered rules from the ruleset
and update the RMS database.
If you add, modify, or delete any of the triggered rules, RMS resends the
simulated message and returns you to the RMS : Event Simulation—Message
Delivery panel in Step 4. By selecting more than one triggered rule, you can
operate on all the selected rules before RMS resends the simulated message.
If you want to cancel the test, press F3 to return to the RMS : Event
Simulation—Message Parameters panel. Press F12 to cancel the test. (You can
also press F4 from the RMS : Event Simulation—Message Delivery panel to
return to the NonStop NET/MASTER RMS primary menu panel, thus
canceling the test.)
Testing a Ruleset
Against a Set of
Messages
You can start an INT-type message handler in your OCS environment, using option 7
on the NonStop NET/MASTER RMS primary menu panel, and capture the processed
messages. You can analyze the captured messages and determine if your ruleset can
be improved. You can use the captured messages to test the improved ruleset. You
can also edit the captured messages to simulate other situations and use the edited set
of messages to test rulesets. Using multiple messages allows you to test the whole
ruleset and any relationships between the rules.
