3. Press ENTER to start the printing operation. Messages appear advising you of the
printing operation.
The messages are printed if a printer is associated with the selected spooler location.
You can use the Guardian spooler utility PERUSE to manage your RMS spooler jobs.
Refer to the Guardian User’s Guide for information on how to use PERUSE.
Starting a Message Handler
by Using the RMS
Command Interface
The message handler NCL procedure is ZRMSMGHN. You can start a message
handler by using the RMS command interface. You can issue the command from your
OCS command line, the NonStop NET/MASTER MS Command Entry facility, or an
NCL procedure. For a MSGPROC, you can also have the handler specified in your
user ID definition so that the handler starts automatically whenever you enter an OCS
window. Refer to the NonStop NET/MASTER MS System Management Guide for
information on user ID definition records.
Some commands used to start message handlers do not allow you to specify a ruleset.
The users that own the environments in which the handlers are started must have
default rulesets. If the user owning an environment does not have a default ruleset, a
message handler can start in the environment but the handler will do nothing to the
messages: that is, the messages flow as if the handler is not there. The messages that
advise you of the progress of the starting operation will say that a ruleset called
UNDEFND is used.
Starting a Message Handler as an EMSPROC
Use the following command to start a message handler as an EMSPROC:
SYSPARMS EMSPROC=ZRMSMGHN
The handler uses the default ruleset of user didEMSP, where did is the domain ID.
Note If an EMSPROC message handler was previously started from the RMS : Start Message Handler panel
using a ruleset other than the default allocated ruleset, that other ruleset is used instead.
Starting a Message Handler as a LOGPROC
Use the following command to start a message handler as a LOGPROC:
SYSPARMS LOGPROC=ZRMSMGHN
The handler uses the default ruleset of user didLOGP, where did is the domain ID.
Note If a LOGPROC message handler was previously started from the RMS : Start Message Handler panel
using a ruleset other than the default allocated ruleset, that other ruleset is used instead.
Starting a Message Handler as a MSGPROC
Use the following command to start a message handler as a MSGPROC:
PROFILE MSGPROC=ZRMSMGHN
