Displaying the List of
Message Handlers and
Their Descriptions
You can display the list of message handlers by selecting option 2 from the NonStop
NET/MASTER RMS primary menu panel. The RMS : Active Message Handlers panel
appears and provides the following information on the handlers:
Column Head Description
NCL ID Identifies the NCL process that is the message handler.
Type Identifies the type of the message handler.
Region Identifies the owner of the environment or region in which the message handler is
executing.
Ruleset Identifies the rulesets that the message handler is using.

Explicitly Purging Message
Handlers by Using the RMS
Panel Interface
You can explicitly purge executing message handlers by using the RMS panel interface
as follows:
1. From the NonStop NET/MASTER RMS primary menu panel, select option 2 to
access Active Message Handler Control. The RMS : Active Message Handlers
panel appears.
2. Type a P next to the NCL IDs of the message handlers to purge and press ENTER.
A message appears prompting you to confirm the purge of the handlers.
Note If you change your mind and want to cancel the purging operation, press F12 and do not perform Step 3.
3. Press ENTER to start purging the handlers. A handler is flagged as **STOPPED**
if the operation is successful.
