Modify the control options (Activation field on page 4 of the control options
definition panels). See “Creating a Ruleset” in Section 5 for a detailed description
of the fields on the control options panels.
Modify the environmental profile (Activation field on the RMS : Profile Definition
panel). See “Specifying the Environmental Profile Requirements” in Section 5 for a
description of the RMS : Profile Definition panel.
Modify the function key settings (Activation field on page 4 of the RMS : Function
Key Settings panels). See “Adding or Modifying the Function Key Settings
Associated With a Ruleset” in Section 6 for a detailed description of the fields on
the RMS : Function Key Settings panels.
You can perform these changes to the ruleset using the Rule Maintenance option on
the NonStop NET/MASTER RMS primary menu panel. The changes you make are
available to all the message handlers that are using the ruleset. However, with the
control options, you can selectively make the changes available to one message
handler only using the RMS : Active Message Handlers panel.
Modifying the Control Options for a Single Message Handler
You can temporarily modify the control options of a selected message handler, using
the RMS : Active Message Handlers panel as follows:
1. From the NonStop NET/MASTER RMS primary menu panel, select option 2 to
access Active Message Handler Control. The RMS : Active Message Handlers
panel appears.
2. Type an S next to the NCL ID of the message handler and press ENTER. The
control options definition panels appear.
3. Make your modifications. See “Creating a Ruleset” in Section 5 for a detailed
description of the fields on the panels.
4. Press F3 to update the options. The RMS : Active Message Handlers panel
reappears, and a message appears confirming the modification of the control
options for the selected message handler.
Replacing the Ruleset Used
by a Message Handler
You can replace the ruleset that a message handler is using without having to restart
the message handler, using the RMS : Active Message Handlers panel as follows:
1. From the NonStop NET/MASTER RMS primary menu panel, select option 2 to
access Active Message Handler Control. The RMS : Active Message Handlers
panel appears.
2. Type an S next to the NCL ID of the message handler and press ENTER. The
RMS : Control Options Definition—Suppression panel appears.
3. Press SHIFT TAB to move the cursor to the Ruleset field and specify the name of
the new ruleset.
4. Press F3 to load the new ruleset. The RMS : Active Message Handlers panel
reappears, and a message appears confirming the modification of the control
options for the selected message handler.
