Controlling Message
Action Rules
You can control message action rules by using the RMS panel interface or, in most
cases, by using the RMS command interface. You can perform the following tasks:
Display, freeze, and delete active subjects, and display and delete queued rule
actions.
Display and thaw frozen message subjects.
Freeze a message subject.
Display and delete delayed message actions.
Dynamically activate or inactivate message action rules.
Displaying, Freezing, and
Deleting Active Subjects
When a message triggers a rule, the message subject becomes active. You can perform
the following on active subjects:
Display the details of the rule actions and selectively delete rule actions.
Freeze active subjects to prevent messages containing those subjects from
triggering rules. Freezing does not affect the current and queued rule actions.
Delete all the rule actions of selected active subjects; that is, delete the queued rule
actions and flush the NCL process that handles the current rule action.
Freeze active subjects and delete their rule actions in one action.
Note RMS stores a list of frozen subjects in its database. A frozen subject remains frozen even when you
restart the system.
