Purging an RMS Timer When you do not need the service of an RMS timer, you can purge it. Purge an RMS
timer as follows:
1. From the NonStop NET/MASTER RMS primary menu panel, select option 3 to
access Active RMS Timer Control. The RMS : Active RMS Timers panel appears.
2. Type a P next to the RMS timers (listed by the time when the timer should first
perform the rule actions) to purge and press ENTER. A message appears
prompting you to confirm the purge of the timers.
Note If you change your mind and want to cancel the purging operation, press F12 and do not perform Step 3.
3. Press ENTER to confirm the purge. A timer is flagged as **PURGED** if the
operation is successful.
Modifying a Time-Based
Rule Dynamically
You can modify a time-based rule and have the changes reflected in the RMS timer.
You can perform the changes using the RMS : Time-Based Rule Definition panel. See
“Adding a Time-Based Rule” in Section 5 for a detailed description of the fields on the
RMS : Time-Based Rule Definition panel.
If you want the changes to be valid for the active RMS timer only and do not want to
save the changes in the database, you can modify the RMS timer using the
RMS : Active RMS Timers panel as follows:
1. From the NonStop NET/MASTER RMS primary menu panel, select option 3 to
access Active RMS Timer Control. The RMS : Active RMS Timers panel appears.
