reverse alphabetic order. Option 1 is the initial sorting option, represented by the
value 1.
Option 2 displays the messages in ascending order according to the number of
times a message arrives. The displayed list starts with the messages that arrive
least frequently. Messages that arrive the same number of times are arranged in
alphabetic order.
Option 3 displays the messages in alphabetic order.
Option 4 displays the messages according to the first time of arrival of a message.
Messages with the first arrival time are arranged in alphabetic order. For example,
if message A arrives at 00:53:36 and 02:09:53, and message B arrives at 00:53:44 and
02:05:29, RMS lists message A before message B.
Option 5 displays the messages in descending order according to the time between
the first and last arrival times of a message (the message with the longest time
interval is listed first). Messages with the same time interval are arranged in
reverse alphabetic order. Using the example for option 4, RMS lists message A
before message B.
Option 6 displays the messages in ascending order according to the time between
the first and last arrival times of a message (the message with the shortest time
interval is listed first). Messages with the same time interval are arranged in
alphabetic order. Using the example for option 4, RMS lists message B before
message A.
Interpreting Captured
Statistics
RMS displays the captured statistics on the RMS : Statistics Capture panel. Only those
statistics as requested through the control options of the ruleset are captured. The
panel displays the time interval within which the statistics are collected. The statistics
are under three main headings on the panel. Depending on the control options
governing the gathering of statistics, some of the following headings may not appear:
RMS STATISTICS
RULE HIT STATISTICS
MESSAGE STATISTICS
Interpreting RMS Statistics RMS STATISTICS lists the number of times certain actions are taken by the message
handler and the total number of messages processed. Depending on the control
options governing the gathering of statistics, some of the following types of statistics
may not appear:
MESSAGE SUPPRESSED provides a count of the messages that arrive at the
message handler but are not delivered by the handler.
MESSAGE MODIFIED provides a count of the messages that arrive at the message
handler and have some of their attributes modified.
MESSAGES REPLACED provides a count of the messages that arrive at the
message handler but are delivered by the handler as a different message: that is,
the message text is replaced.
