Customizing
BASERULE
If you plan to use the BASERULE ruleset, customize the ZCPUUP and the
ZTACLFAIL rules to reflect the requirements of your system. It is strongly
recommended that you also customize the ZCPUDOWN rule to change the volume on
which the CPU dump files reside to a volume other than $SYSTEM. The $SYSTEM
volume is reserved for system files, and you do not want to use up space by filling
$SYSTEM with dump files.
The BASERULE ruleset is distributed so that the rule actions for each rule execute in
an NCL queue. The NCL queues are defined using a series of NCLQUEUE SET
commands in the ZRMSININ NCL procedure. To change the execution limit for each
queue, if this is appropriate for your system, either customize the NCLQUEUE SET
commands in ZRMSININ so that RMS starts with changed execution limits, or execute
NCLQUEUE SET commands from the OCS command line after RMS startup. It is
recommended that you do not change the names of the NCL queues for the
BASERULE ruleset.
Before you customize the BASERULE ruleset, make a copy of the ruleset. See Section
12, “Base Rulesets,” for the rule actions performed by the rules and customization
requirements.
