Online Help for RMS
Messages
Appendix A, “RMS Messages,” explains the messages that you may encounter in RMS.
You can also access the explanations online from an OCS window or a Browse
NonStop NET/MASTER Messages panel. Refer to the NonStop NET/MASTER MS
Operator’s Guide for information on how to get online help on messages.
Sample Session Here is a sample session that guides you through a step-by-step ruleset development
process. The session concludes with you starting a message handler that uses the
ruleset, generating an event that triggers a rule, and observing the result. To proceed
with this session, you must have authority to perform the following:
Access OCS.
Issue the NonStop NET/MASTER MS PROFILE MSGPROC= command.
Receive monitor-class messages.
Issue the NonStop NET/MASTER MS CLOSTERM and OPENTERM commands.
Your NonStop NET/MASTER MS user ID definition determines whether you can do
any of the above through the following fields:
Authority Level—The level must be high enough for the commands. See your
system manager for the authority levels required for the commands.
OCS Access—The value must be Y.
Monitor Status—The value must be Y.
Refer to the NonStop NET/MASTER MS Operator’s Guide for information on how to
view your user ID definition.
Objective The objective is to develop a ruleset that can handle the following situation:
1. A user tries to log on to NonStop NET/MASTER MS from a terminal that is
dedicated to NonStop NET/MASTER MS.
