3 noft Options
An option is a flag and its parameters, if any. Use the noft options to specify the input
object code file, control the noft environment, and control the format of noft output.
This section describes the syntax and semantics of noft options and provides
examples of each option.
Table 3-1 lists the noft flags in alphabetic order. For tables that list noft flags by
function, see:

Break Key
on page 3-3 Terminates the output of the current option and, if noft
is running from the command line, terminates the noft
program itself.
! (Exclamation Point)
on page 3-4 Executes a previously executed command line. (Use
only in an interactive session.)
AOUTHDR
on page 3-4 Displays the optional header of a COFF file.
CD
on page 3-5 Changes the current working directory used to search
for relative filenames. (Use only in OSS environment.)
COMMENT
on page 3-5 Allows comments in noft command files.
DUMPADDRESS or DA

Displays code and data from a virtual address inside an
object code file’s memory space.
DUMPOFFSET or DO

Displays code and data from a physical offset within the
object code file.
DUMPPROC or DP
on page 3-9 Displays the contents of a procedure or part of a
procedure.
DYNSTR
on page 3-13 Displays the object code file’s Dynstr Section (if any).
The Dynstr Section contains the string information to
which the dynamic symbol table, globalized dynamic
symbol table, and dynamic table point.
DYNSTR2
on page 3-14 Displays the object code file’s Dynstr2 Section of an
object code file created by the ld utility.
ENV
on page 3-15 Displays the current settings of environment
parameters.
EXIT or E
on page 3-16 Stops the noft process.
FC
on page 3-16 Edits or repeats a previously executed command line.

on page 3-17 Specifies the name of the target object code file.
