NonStop Cluster Essentials Installation and Quick Start Guide

• Java Runtime Environment 6.0 or later – if not already installed, download it from
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index.html. Java Runtime Environment 6.0 or later
is required on the CMS or console in order to invoke the Configuration Management, Cluster
Boot, and Account Management applications from within HP SIM.
• MR-Win6530 – install from NonStop System Console DVD (S7X-SWV2/HNSC-SWV2 or
later).
• OSM Low-Level Link T0633 ABE or later – install from NonStop System Console DVD
(S7X-SWV2/HNSC-SWV2, Update 06 or later) or order via Scout from SDRC.
• Software: HP SIM 7.1 or later, which can be installed from the HP SIM (or HP Insight Control
for NonStop) DVD that ships with NonStop System Console DVD, Update 15 and later. You
can also download HP SIM at:

If you need to upgrade HP SIM, follow the guidelines in the HP SIM Installation and
Configuration Guide for the product version you are installing:

HP SIM has its own prerequisites:
◦ On a Windows-based console, HP SIM requires Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or
Microsoft Windows Server 2008.
◦ SNMP support on the CMS – This can be installed using the Add/Remove Windows
components section in the Add/Remove Programs wizard.
◦ .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and Windows Installer 4.5. If the HP SIM installer reports that
either are missing, they can be installed from the HP Insight Control for NonStop DVD
that ships along with the NonStop System Console Installer DVD, Update 17 or later.
◦ Rerun the OpenSSH installer from the HP SIM install location after HP SIM has been
installed. This is because of a known issue where the OpenSSH installer hangs during
HP SIM install.
◦ Either during or after installation of HP SIM, perform the following Database configuration
steps:
