NonStop Cluster Essentials Installation and Quick Start Guide
NOTE:
• For NonStop Cluster Essentials 2.4.0 or later:
NonStop Cluster Essentials does not prompt for the database credentials during installation
because it uses the HP SIM SQL Server user name and password for its database
operations. However, during the export process, you need to specify the IP address of
the remote CMS SQL Server host, the SQL Server database port, and the SQL Server
database user name and password. If you do not know these values, you can retrieve
them (all but the password) from the remote CMS database.props file located in the
<HP-SIM>/config/ folder. The hp.Database.hostName,
hp.Database.portNumber and hp.Database.username keys have these values.
• For NonStop Cluster Essentials 2.3.0 and earlier:
The database credentials you are prompted for during the export process are those
specified when creating the Configuration Database while “Installing NonStop Cluster
Essentials on a Windows Console” (page 16), not the username and password for the
console or the operating system credentials for any managed system.
5. Once the export process has been completed, you will see all of the same configured NonStop
Clusters or servers when you launch the NonStop Cluster Configuration Management
Application or the NonStop Cluster Boot Application as those configured on the original
console.
Granting Permissions in the SQL Server Database for a Remote CMS
You can use the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express tool to authorize a user who
is doing a remote export but who does not know the SQL Server database user name and password
for that remote CMS.
