A Uninstalling NonStop Cluster Essentials
NOTE: If you are uninstalling NonStop Clusters Essentials 3.0.0 to install an older version of
NonStop Cluster Essentials, you must erase all the tables in the database. The database for NonStop
Cluster Essentials 3.0.0 has a different schema and is not compatible with the database of NonStop
Cluster Essentials 2.5.0 and earlier.
Uninstalling NonStop Cluster Essentials requires the following steps:
“Uninstall the Client Component from a Windows Console (page 35)
“Uninstall the Client Component from a Linux CMS” (page 35)
“Uninstall the Linux Event Agent” (page 35)
“Uninstall the NonStop Server Component” (page 35)
Uninstall the Client Component from a Windows Console
From the Start menu, select HP NonStop Cluster Essentials > Uninstall HP NonStop Cluster Essentials.
A dialog box prompts you to confirm your intention to uninstall all NonStop Cluster Essentials
components. Upon selecting yes, all NonStop Cluster Essentials components are removed from
the console. The configuration database is not removed.
Uninstall the Client Component from a Linux CMS
To remove NonStop Cluster Essentials from a Linux CMS, use the Uninstall feature launched from
the Applications menu shortcut for HP NonStop Cluster Essentials or run the following command:
/etc/opt/hp/nce/uninstall.sh
If you cannot uninstall NonStop Cluster Essentials normally for example, if the NonStop Cluster
Essentials files were removed without having run the uninstaller you can manually erase the
package installation entry in the package manager. To do this, first determine the specific package
label. If you try to install NonStop Cluster Essentials and it fails because it is already installed, the
package label is also shown automatically. Otherwise, use the following command:
rpm -q HP_NonStop_Cluster_Essentials
The package label will be shown; for example: HP_NonStop_Cluster_Essentials-2.2.0-1
Then, using the package label, type:
rpm e package-label
For example:
rpm -e HP_NonStop_Cluster_Essentials-2.2.0-1
You can also do this using a graphical package manager.
Uninstall the Linux Event Agent
You can remove the Linux event log agent (T0800V01) from Linux servers as follows:
If the yum package manager is installed and configured on the Linux server, enter the following
command to remove the nce-Linux package:
yum erase nce-Linux
If yum is not available, use the rpm command to remove the nce-Linux package:
rpm e nce-Linux
Uninstall the NonStop Server Component
Perform the following steps to remove the NonStop Essentials - NonStop Module (T0840V01) from
NonStop servers:
