For the installation of a NonStop agent, here is some of the basic information about the 
NonStop server that is needed before the installation: 
  Server name 
  IP address or DNS name 
  Port number to be used for communication between the CMS and agent on the 
 managed node 
  Installation volume and subvolume (target directory) 
  User name and password

3.7.  Licensing 
The product will not run without proper licensing on the CMS and each managed server. 
Each of the systems needs to be registered via HP NonStop Performance
 website 
(http://www.HPNonStopPerformance.com/Registration/PEAgent/PE
Registration.asp). For 
both Linux and NonStop agents, you must know the Serial Number of your system in order 
to register. 
To get the valid Serial Number of your Linux system, use the command $>'dmidecode'. You 
will need use the root user to do this. Because the output of this command is huge, use a 
grep command to filter out the system serial number (using the command $> dmidecode | 
grep "Serial Number"). The Serial Number of your Linux system will be the first serial 
number as shown in the example below. 
e.g. Serial Number: HP9999999 
 Serial Number: HP7123NAX 
 Serial Number: Not Specified 
 Serial Number: Not Specified 
For this example the system serial number is HP9999999.
