NonStop Cluster Performance Essentials User's Guide, Version 2.2

Make sure that
the Serial Number is copied exactly as it is in this output because the
registration is case sensitive.
For the Node Name of your Linux system, make sure you use exactly the same name as
what you used to define the node in Clusters Essentials.
For NonStop, you must know the exact Serial Number (including leading zeros) and Node
Name of your NonStop system in order to register. It is recommended to use SYSINFO to
verify the information before starting the registration process.
Once the product is registered and activated it is issued a temporary license (usually
multiple months). The system will periodically check for a new license during this period,
which usually starts when 60 days or less are remaining on the license. The license on the
web site is updated to match the type of license purchased by the customer as part of the
processing of the purchase agreement. The customer is granted one of the three different
kinds of licenses: permanent license, monthly license, license for a certain term. Monthly
and Term licenses require periodic renewal.
After registration, if the CMS on which the SIM Performance Essentials component is being
installed has Internet access, the licensing process is completely automated. If no Internet
access is available, email PerformanceManagement@hp.com
 with the following information:
System Serial Number (include leading zeros)
Operating System
Customer information
When the Performance Essentials software is started and there are issues (such as corrupt
license, no license, or expired license) with the license files, a message is written to a log
file in SIM. To access the log file messages, the user will have to set up the debug mode for
error logging in SIM. For more details on how this works, please refer to the SIM user
manual.
For both the Linux and NonStop agents, it is best to have the agents installed and running
before installing the PE SIM plug-in. This will allow the user to automatically invoke the
licensing of their agents after discovery and setting Protocol Settings has taken place. For
more detailed information on how to setup the agents on the PE SIM plug-in, refer to the
