8.  Tips and Trouble Shooting 
Most problems with Performance Essentials can be solved quickly by following the 
advice in this section. 
8.1.  Installation 
If you are not sure the install completed successfully 
  For the PE SIM Plug-in component check the following; 
o  performanceUpdate.jar file should be installed within SIM in the 
following local disk directory structure; C:\Program Files\HP\Systems 
Insight Manager\lib. 
o  Ports.properties file should be installed within SIM in the following local 
disk directory structure; C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight 
Manager\config\performance. 
o  Performance Essentials database will be created in the same location 
as the current SIM database and Clusters Essentials database in the 
following local disk directory structure; C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL 
Server\..\..\Data and have the following database files; 
Insight_PE_v0002.mdf and Insight_PE_v0002_log.LDF. 
o  PE column created with the SIM tables. 
o  Performance Essentials configurations are installed within SIM under 
the following SIM menus; Configure -> NonStop Cluster 
Essentials -> PE Configuration Management... & Refresh PE... 
  For the NonStop Host Agent component check the following; 
o  File list matches files installed and created in your NonStop 
Performance Essentials subvolume as outlined in 4.2.1 Installation and 
Requirements for NonStop Agent.
