Volume for dba/m Database Manager files: Assign a volume of dba/m Database
Manager files. Verify that there are no subvolumes with the following names:
GENBAT, GENCAT, GENCOLL, GENTACL, GENDB, GENINSTL, GENOBY,
GENOUT, GENPROG, GENPWY, and GENEDT.
NonStop Kernel Operating System Software: Verify that the following software is
installed and running:
Guardian operating system, Release D20.01 or higher
NonStop SQL/MP database, release 2 or higher
Pathway release ACJ or higher
Transaction monitoring facility (TMF)
Client Server Communication Options
One of the following communication option must is required for the operation of dba/m.
NonStop Software for Client-Server Connection for native TCP/IP Option:
NonStop TCP/IP IPMAA0 or higher
TCP/IP utilities
NonStop Software for Client-Server Connection Using RSC and NetBIOS
Option: Verify that the client-connection methods are correct
NonStop-supported local area network (LAN)
Multi-LAN attachment device (MLAD)
Tandem access method (TLAM) release C11 or higher
To add NetBIOS names to the RSC, start the RSCCOM utility from a TACL prompt. For
example,
>> RSCCOM $ZRSC
(( ADD NETNAME DBAC
(( START NETNAME DBAC
(( STATUS NETNAME DBAC
The status of the service and port will be displayed.
The port must be in the RUNNING State.
If the RSC process name is not $ZRSC, ask the system administrator for the correct
process name.
