A device controller did not perform a handshake correctly during the select-for-data
transfer protocol.
Unconditional Tokens
Cause. The selection of a device controller for data transfer failed because it did not
respond to the select command.
Effect. If the reconnect-poll sequencer (RPS) failed, it might not be usable again until
the processor is reloaded or the channel is reset; however, the channel tries to restart
the RPS. If this error occurs regularly, the operating system disables the channel.
Recovery. If the error continues to occur, see Recovery Action Requiring Vendor
Support on page 3-13.
