Event Management Service (EMS)
When an event occurs, the affected operating system component sends an EMS event
message to the EMS collector ($0 process).
When an operating system event occurs, the affected operating system component
sends an event message to an EMS collector ($0 process). The collector logs each
event message to a disk file. An EMS consumer distributor can be used by an
application to read these messages. The types of messages that the distributor reads
depend on the filter specifications configured for it.
Most event messages described in this manual are reported to the EMS collector ($0
process). Some of these event messages are also, or only, reported to the $ZLOG
process (service event logger) used by HP Tandem Maintenance and Diagnostic
System (TMDS) in D-series NonStop operating system RVUs and Compaq TSM or
HP NonStop Open System Management (OSM) Interface in G-series and H-series
NonStop operating system RVUs.
