Unconditional Tokens
Cause. The tape media or tape drive failed. An EIO instruction was issued and the
TERMSTAT returned indicates that the tape read operation was retried. The
TERMSTAT values are:
The event message contains information concerning the reason for the retry operation.
Effect. None.
Recovery. If the error continues to occur, see Recovery Action Requiring Vendor
Support on page 10-15.
