Messages
Cause. An EIO instruction was issued, and the TERMSTAT returned indicates that a
hard self-test error occurred. Depending on the particular TERMSTAT value, this event
message indicates a problem with the controller. The TERMSTAT values are:
Effect. The tape operation aborts.
Recovery. If the error continues to occur, see Recovery Action Requiring Vendor
Support on page 10-15.
