Unconditional Tokens
Cause. A controller received an illegal command. This event can occur when the
controller has run out of PROM code and a downloaded command is sent. Check the
unloaded bit in the RDST word. If this bit is set to 1, then the next event for this
controller must be a UCODE-DOWNLOAD. If the unloaded bit is zero, there might be a
problem in the controller, cabling, or channel.
An EIO instruction was issued, and the TERMSTAT returned indicates that an illegal
command was sent to the controller. The TERMSTAT values are:
Effect. The tape operation aborts.
Recovery. If the error continues to occur, see Recovery Action Requiring Vendor
Support on page 10-15.
