Unconditional Tokens
Cause. When an NVRAM surpasses its maximum number of writes, its readability
degenerates. Because the NVRAM is still functional, you do not need to replace the
board immediately. During the next preventive maintenance operation, replace the
controller board containing the NVRAM.
A write or update NVRAM EIO instruction was issued, and the TERMSTAT returned
indicates that the NVRAM was written more than 1000 times. The TERMSTAT values
are:
Effect. The tape operation aborts.
Recovery. NVRAMs have a finite life; they cannot take more than 1000 writes.
Replace the NVRAM before all of its data is lost. If the error continues to occur, see
Recovery Action Requiring Vendor Support
on page 10-15.
