Messages
Cause. An EIO instruction was issued, and the TERMSTAT returned indicates that the
tape drive is powered off. This event message can also indicate a problem with the
tape drive or formatter. The TERMSTAT values are:
Effect. The tape operation aborts.
Recovery. Ensure that the tape drive and formatter are powered on. If they are
powered on and the error continues to occur, see Recovery Action Requiring Vendor
Support on page 10-15.
