Unconditional Tokens
Cause. An erase EIO instruction was issued to a 3207, 3208, or 3209 controller, and
the TERMSTAT returned indicates that the erase command failed. TERMSTAT values
are:
Depending on the drive status value, this event message can indicate a problem with
the drive, the formatter, the controller, or the channel.
Effect. The tape operation aborts.
Recovery. If the error continues to occur, see Recovery Action Requiring Vendor
Support on page 10-15.
