Unconditional Tokens
Cause. An EIO instruction was issued, and the TERMSTAT returned indicates that an
illegal drive status was detected. Depending on the drive status value, this event
message can indicate a problem with the drive, formatter, or controller. TERMSTAT
values are:
Effect. The tape operation aborts.
Recovery. If the error continues to occur, see Recovery Action Requiring Vendor
Support on page 10-15.
