Messages
Cause. A read EIO instruction was issued, and the TERMSTAT returned indicates that
the data on the tape was too large for the formatter buffer. This event can indicate a
problem with the drive, formatter, or data on the tape. The TERMSTAT values are:
Effect. The tape operation aborts.
Recovery. If the error continues to occur, see Recovery Action Requiring Vendor
Support on page 10-15.
