Messages
Cause. An EIO instruction was issued, and the TERMSTAT returned indicates that a
soft formatter error occurred (3208 controllers only). Depending on the drive status
value, this event message can indicate a problem with the drive, formatter, or
controller. The TERMSTAT values are:
Effect. The tape operation aborts.
Recovery. If the error continues to occur, see Recovery Action Requiring Vendor
Support on page 10-15.
