Unconditional Tokens
Cause. An EIO instruction was issued, and the TERMSTAT returned indicates that the
cable is not connected or is broken. Depending on the device status value, this event
message can indicate a problem with the drive, controller, or cable. The TERMSTAT
values are:
Effect. The tape operation aborts.
Recovery. Ensure that the cable between the tape drive and the controller is
connected. If the error continues to occur, see Recovery Action Requiring Vendor
Support on page 10-15.
