Unconditional Tokens
Cause. The RIC word from an I/O operation on a 3202 controller has the overrun flag
set. A read, write, or write-file-mark operation that receives this error is retried up to 40
times. The controller sets this flag when the channel fails to respond to a reconnect-in
before the controller buffer either empties on a write or overflows on a read.
This event might indicate a problem with the controller or the channel.
Effect. The tape operation aborts.
Recovery. If the error continues to occur, see Recovery Action Requiring Vendor
Support on page 10-15.
