Cause. The disk process made two attempts to initialize a volume’s cache during
volume startup. The first attempt used the cache sizes requested in the most recent
PUP SETCACHE command (D-series NonStop operating system RVUs) or SCF
ALTER DISK command (G-series and H-series NonStop operating system RVUs). The
second attempt used the default cache sizes. Both attempts failed for the reason given
in the event message.
Effect. The volume remains in a down state.

5060: ZDSK-EVT-DEFAULT-CACHE-SIZES
A disk volume has been configured with the default cache sizes instead of the cache
sizes requested in the most recent PUP SETCACHE command (D-series NonStop
operating system RVUs) or SCF ALTER DISK command (G-series and H-series
NonStop operating system RVUs).
Token Description
ZEMS-TKN-EVENTNUMBER Event number for this message. Value is ZDSK-EVT-
CACHE-INIT-FAILURE (5059).
ZEMS-TKN-LDEV Subject token that specifies the logical device number of
the affected disk drive.
ZDSK-TKN-VOL-NAME Additional subject token that contains the volume name of
the affected disk drive.
Token Description
ZDSK-TKN-CACHE-INIT-REASON Reason that cache initialization for the volume failed.
