Cause. A drive that has a SMART feature enabled monitors and stores critical
performance and calibration information. A device that uses this drive attempted to
predict performance degradation or device failure and instructed the user to take a
recovery action against data loss before the degradation or the failure actually
occurred. This event occurs when testing and debugging programs.
Effect. Performance degradation or a device failure might occur if the suggested
recovery action is not performed.
Recovery. You might want to replace the device, which reduces the likelihood of a
driver failure and loss of data. This event is used by the vendor during software
development.
