20 SCSI Module Driver Event
Messages (ZSMD)
The SMD subsystem returns syndrome codes to the input/output processes (IOPs)
(disk, tape, and so on) that communicate with SCSI devices. The IOPs, in turn,
generate SCSI common events. The SMD event messages are reported to the EMS
service event logger ($ZLOG). These messages are viewable using the OSM Event
Viewer or the TSM EMS Event Viewer Application. SCSI module driver event
messages are reported to the EMS by the DP2 Driver.
Table 20-1. SCSI Module Driver Event Messages (page 1 of 3)
Event Number and Symbolic Name Description
65: ZSMD-EVT-MDR-FIELD-CONTENT-ERR
An invalid SCSI module driver request
structure field content error occurred.
66: ZSMD-EVT-CTLR-LOCK-RQD
An operation or entry point call that
requires the controller lock when the lock
has not been acquired.
96: ZSMD-EVT-MD-INTERNAL-ERROR
A module driver internal consistency error
occurred.
97: ZSMD-EVT-MD-STRUCT-ERR
A module driver data structure error
occurred.
98: ZSMD-EVT-MD-MB-SM-ERR
A module driver internal mailbox state
machine error occurred.
103: ZSMD-EVT-MD-SYNDROME-UNKNOWN
The SCSI module driver syndrome is
unknown by the input/output process
(IOP).
128: ZSMD-EVT-SVNET-SVC-INTF-ERR
An error call return value or an error
interrupt code occurred from the
ServerNet Services to the module driver.
129: ZSMD-EVT-SVNET-CPU-TIMEOUT
The processor’s ServerNet hardware
detected a ServerNet transfer timeout.
130: ZSMD-EVT-SVNET-NO-AVT
The ServerNet Service has reported that
no access validation table (AVT) is
available.
131: ZSMD-EVT-SVNET-CPU-RCV-ERR
The processor ServerNet hardware has
received a ServerNet packet error. The
error can be an address, direction or
source identification error. The packet can
be a data or an interrupt packet.
132: ZSMD-EVT-SVNET-CTLR-HW-ERR
