Preparation and Recovery for Power Failures
You can minimize unplanned outage time by having procedures to prepare and
recover quickly from power failures, as described in Section 15, Power Failures:
Preparation and Recovery.
Stopping and Powering Off the System
HP recommends a specific set of procedures for stopping and powering off a NonStop
S-series server or its components, as described in Section 16, Starting and Stopping
the System.
Powering On and Starting the System
HP recommends a specific set of procedures for powering on and starting a NonStop
S-series server or its components, as described in Section 16, Starting and Stopping
the System.
Performing Preventive Maintenance
Routine preventive maintenance consists of:

Dusting or cleaning enclosures as needed
•
Cleaning tape drives regularly
•
Evaluating tape condition regularly
•
Cleaning and reverifying tapes as needed
