NonStop Server for Java (NSJ) Programmer's Guide (NSJ 2.0+)
Accessing the Tools
You access the SIP tools from a browser by using the following URL:
http://sipconf-system:port
Where:
sipconf-system
is either the host name of the system where sipconf is running or the dotted decimal address of
the system where sipconf is running.
port
is the port number that you supplied when you started sipconf.
Configuration Tool
The configuration tool allows you to configure a new SIP application.
To configure a new SIP application, follow this procedure:
Configure Pathway for the SIP application.1.
For each SIP server class in the SIP application, configure a SIP server to run under the SIP application.2.
Note: The SIP application is a Pathway application. If you are not familiar with Pathway, see the
Compaq NonStop
TM
TS/MP System Management Manual.
Configuring Pathway for the SIP Application
Before using the configuration tool to configure the SIP application, you need the following information:
The name of the OSS directory in which to store the SIP application configuration files●
A name for the PATHMON process of the application●
The primary and backup processors (CPUs) for the PATHMON process●
The Guardian volume and subvolume for the TS/MP log files●
The OSS directory in which to store the SIP log files (this is also your server's current working directory)●
The number of SIP server classes in this SIP application●
(Optional) The home terminal for the Pathway system●
After providing the configuration tool with the preceding information, you can do either of the following:
Configure the new SIP application only (but not start it)●
Configure and start the new SIP application (which starts Pathway)●
If you do not start Pathway from the configuration tool, you must start Pathway from the obey file in your SIP
configuration directory.
The TS/MP configuration that the configuration tool generates configures the PATHMON environment.
Configuring the SIP Server
After the new SIP application has been created, you can create one or more SIP servers to run under it. You must
create one SIP server class for each SIP server in the SIP application.
To create a SIP server that runs under the SIP application, you need the following information:
Absolute path to the Java Virtual Machine to be used with the SIP server if the default location for the Java●
