Installation Requirements
Hardware and software requirements for the Compaq NonStop Server for Java...based on Java 2
Platform, Standard Edition, SDK 1.2.2 (short form: NonStop Java) are described in the README
file on the product CD. Read that document before installing the product.
The software requirements in the README file list the earliest acceptable versions of the required
software. You can substitute later versions of the same products.
Be sure to unpack the documentation in the proper directories. Otherwise, the document links from
docs/index.html to the release documents and demo files will be broken.
Configuration Requirements
This subsection explains how to configure your system for the JDK by doing the following:
Creating Larger or Additional Swap Files●
Setting Environment Variables●
Binding Libraries Into the JVM●
Configuring TCP/IP and DNS for RMI●
Creating Larger or Additional Swap Files
To have enough memory to execute the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), you need one additional
swap file managed by the NonStop Kernel for each processor in which you plan to run the JVM.
Each of the swap files must be at least 510 MB (1024 Extents, 255 MaxExtents).
