Message flow of NSSOAP request with Digital
Signatures
Apart from authenticating the sender, NSSOAP transactions using Digital
Signatures ensure that there is no eavesdropping and that no data is modified.
Message flow of NSSOAP request with Digital Signatures
Figure 7-1
shows the process an NSSOAP request with Digital Signatures follows.
The various steps displayed in the diagram are described as follows:
1. The Client prepares the NSSOAP request and uses its private key to sign the
request. The signature is put in the header of the request message. Optionally the
Client can also put the corresponding public key in the NSSOAP message.
Note. Support for Digital Signatures has been released as a separate product “NonStop SOAP
with Digital Signatures”. This feature is not supported by the conventional NonStop SOAP.
Note. NonStop SOAP with Digital Signatures also supports all the features of the conventional
SOAP.
