NonStop Software Essentials User's Guide
TSV Locations Tab
This tab lets you add or move a Target Subvolume (TSV) to a new volume or remove a TSV from
a volume. The changes take effect when the software is applied to the target. A TSV cannot be
shared by multiple configurations; each configuration must maintain its own set of TSVs on a
separate volume.
The TSV Locations tab contains a table on the left from which you can select TSVs to act upon using
the Move to volume, Add to volume, or Remove from volume buttons.
A few notes/guidelines regarding the changing of TSV locations:
• The default volume assignment for new TSVs is affected by the “Target volume for new
subvolumes” value on the Output tab.
• Moving a SYSnn TSV from its original volume might require a system load that is otherwise
unnecessary.
• If you manually copy or move a TSV on the target system or perform a volume operation on
the target (such as adding, deleting or renaming any volume), the changes are not shown in
the TSV Locations dialog box until after you perform a Verify Database and an independent
snapshot.
• Changing the TSV location affects all future Build/Apply requests for a logical target.
• Different logical targets cannot share the same TSV.
• Each logical target must maintain its own set of TSVs on separate volumes.
• Every TSV must have at least one location (volume); you cannot remove the last one.
• The column with the asterisk heading (pictured below) is used to indicate TSVs that are new
for this software revision.
