NonStop Software Essentials User's Guide

Adding users to NonStop Software Essentials and establishing what tasks they can perform
Resolving problems with the software database
These tasks include database maintenance tasks using the Maintenance Interfaces. NonStop
Software Essentials and DSM/SCM are usually configured by the initial database administrator.
By default, each database administrator has full permission to access the ZPHIHMI. You can apply
restrictions by setting the appropriate flags on the Database Administrator Security screen. You
can give permission to a database administrator to perform these functions:

Planner Tasks
The planner has primary responsibility for installing software, but might also oversee the NonStop
software management responsibilities assigned to others. The planner must thoroughly know and
understand installation procedures and NonStop Software Essentials operations, as most
planner-specific tasks are performed using the NonStop Software Essentials interface. The planner
also has permission to use all DSM/SCM interfaces. You can establish planners without any
permissions, giving them read-only access to a subset of software management functions. These
planners can view items such as software configurations and packages but cannot make changes.
