software management operation.
Operator tasks include:
• Initiating the application of the activation package received from the host on tape if the host
and target systems are not connected using Expand
• Activating the software in the activation package (including running OSM or SCF) and, if
necessary, running ZPHIRNM and performing a system load
• Mounting tapes when instructed by EMS messages, TAPECOM, or the ZPHITI status screen
• Monitoring the status of target system tasks
• Requesting an independent snapshot of the target system, to send target system information
to the host database if the host and target systems are not connected using Expand
