7. When the Windows Components Wizard completes the installation, click Finish.
8. After SNMP is installed, go to Step 1 in Enable SNMP (page 49) to ensure that SNMP is
automatically started.
Disable Simple File Sharing
Before installing HP SIM, disable simple file sharing on the system console:
To disable simple file sharing on a system console running Windows Server 2003:
1. Double-click My Computer on the Windows desktop.
2. Select Tools > Folder Options.
3. In the Folder Options dialog box, click the View tab.
4. In the Advanced Settings section, check that Use simple file sharing (Recommended) is not
selected. Click Apply.
5. In the Folder Options dialog box, click OK to disable simple file sharing on the system console.
To disable simple file sharing on a system console running Windows Server 2008:
1. Click the Start button.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Select Appearance and Personalization.
4. Select Folder Options.
5. Select the View tab.
6. Scroll to the bottom of the Advanced settings list.
7. Clear the Use Sharing Wizard (Recommended) box.
8. Click OK.
9. Close all windows.
Start SQLServerAgent
Skip this procedure if you are running Windows Server 2008. If you are running Windows Server
2003, you need to manually start the SQLServerAgent service before installing HP SIM. Otherwise,
the installation does not complete.
1. Select Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools>Services.
2. Right-click SQLServerAgent in the list of services and select Start.
The Status changes to Started.
3. To make SQLServerAgent start automatically when the console is restarted, right-click
SQLServerAgent and select Properties. Select Automatic from the Startup Type menu. Click
Apply and OK.

The HP Insight Control for NonStop Setup Wizard included on the HP Insight Control for NonStop
DVD lets you install the following products on a qualified Windows-based console:
• HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM)
• HP Insight Control Power Management (on NSC only)
• NonStop Software Essentials Windows Client
