NonStop System Console Installer Guide

NOTE: If HP SIM is not already installed on your console, you must perform the following steps:
1. Using the HP Insight Control for NonStop Setup Wizard, install HP SIM. After a successful
installation, a console reboot is required before installing any SIM plug-in products. The installer
wizard prompts you to choose between these reboot options:
• Automatic reboot, in which case you will need to launch the HP Insight Control for NonStop
Setup Wizard manually after the reboot to install the plug-in products.
• Manual reboot at the end of the HP SIM installation, in which case the HP Insight Control
for NonStop Setup Wizard will automatically be launched after you reboot the console,
giving you the opportunity to install the plug-in products.
2. From the HP Insight Control for NonStop Setup Wizard, you can select to install HP Insight
Control Power Management and NonStop Software Essentials.
3. If any hotfixes are available for HP SIM, a message will display their location. You can install
the hotfixes from the specified directory.
You cannot install HP Insight Control Power Management or NonStop Software Essentials if HP
SIM is not installed on your console.
Before installing HP SIM, make sure you have completed the “HP SIM Pre-Installation Tasks” (page
49).
To install HP SIM, HP Insight Control Power Management, or HP NonStop Software Essentials, do
as follows:
1. Access your HP Insight Control for NonStop DVD and click SETUP.EXE. The following welcome
screen is displayed:
Click Next to continue.
2. Choose the console you are using for the installation. By default, NSC is selected.
