About This Document

This guide provides information about upgrading a system console to the latest versions of the

system console applications delivered on the HP NonStop System Console Installer S7X-SWV2/

HNSC-SWV2/QNSC-SWV2, Update 21 DVD.

Prerequisites

This guide requires a working knowledge of the Microsoft™ Windows Server 2003 or the

Microsoft™ Windows Server 2008 operating systems.

Supported Release Version Updates (RVUs)

This publication supports the system console applications delivered on the HP NonStop System

Console Installer DVD (S7X-SWV2/HNSC-SWV2/QNSC-SWV2, Update 21) as well as the HP

Insight Control for NonStop DVD that ships with it. Until otherwise indicated by its replacement

publication, this guide supports: J06.04 and all subsequent J-series RVUs, H06.10 and all subsequent

H-series RVUs, and G06.10 and all subsequent G-series RVUs.

Intended Audience

This guide is written for operations staff and service providers who need to upgrade system consoles.

NOTE: If you are viewing this manual from the NonStop System Console DVD, a more recent

version of this manual might exist in the NonStop Technical Library (NTL). Compare the publication

dates and part numbers between the manuals to determine the latest version.

This guide has been revised to describe the content changes of the HP NonStop System Console

Installer DVD (S7X-SWV2/HNSC-SWV2/QNSC-SWV2, Update 21) as well as the HP Insight

Control for NonStop DVD that ships with it. For a list of changed applications and links to them,

see Table 3 (page 11).
