NonStop System Console Installer Guide

NOTE: You will not see this connection for the second NIC if you have not configured that
connection with an IP address when you added the NSC to your dedicated service LAN. However,
after you do configure that NIC for remote support services either for remote notification (dial-out)
using HP Insight Remote Support Advanced or remote connection (dial-in) using Remote Desktop
this procedure will become necessary.
Removing DHCP Server Binding for the Second NIC on Windows Server
2003
For NonStop system consoles running Windows Server 2003, the second NIC should not be
automatically added to the DHCP server bindings, based on the factory-configured settings.
However, should it become necessary to remove the DHCP server binding for that IP address, or
to check to confirm that it's not an issue, the Windows Server 2003 procedure varies slightly, as
follows:
1. From the NonStop system console hosting DHCP services, click Start > Administrative Tools >
DHCP.
2. In the left column, right-click the name of the DHCP server you are altering and select Properties.
3. In the Properties dialog, select the Advanced tab and click Bindings.
4. If there is a check mark in the box next to the IP address for the second NIC, uncheck that
box and click OK to remove the DHCP server binding for that IP address.
